Is the death penalty fair? Should people who commit serious crimes be sentenced to death penalty, should it be used or should we get rid of it? These are questions where the answers may vary depending on who is answering them. The death penalty, also known as Capital Punishment is by definition, "The execution of a person by judicial process as a punishment for an offense. This topic raises many controversy issues around the world.
Some see the death penalty as uncivilized punishment that violates moral values, whereas others believe it will help the criminals for repeating the offense. I personally believe we should abolish it everywhere. I think if someone is going to commit such a crime they should sit in jail and think about what they have done for the rest of their lives. Yeah, some people make mistakes but how could you call murdering or raping someone a mistake. I think all criminals who commit those crimes are disgusting and do not deserve to walk the earth!

I disagree with that. Jail time to some is a way to not have to pay for food and living, they don't mind the things that they have to go through there. Do I think that a person should be killed because they stole something, absolutely not they didn't hurt anyone. But if someone who killed some else then they deserve to die too, there is no reason that people should be out killing others. Also, most people who do serious crimes are mentally ill and could see as killing someone as nothing wrong, they just did it.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Nicole and strongly believe in the old saying, "an eye for an eye". If you have the nerve to take someone else's life, yours should be taken from you.
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to the death penalty, I do not believe anyone has the right to take life away from someone, whether it be a criminal or a doctor on death row. Murder is murder, no matter what the circumstance is. Life in prison is the better option in my eyes.
ReplyDeleteI dont think the death penalty should be allowed. People kill themselves in jail all the time. The better punishment would be for them to just sit in jail for the rest of thier life. If they are killed it just ends it all but if they have to sit in jail for 60 years, i think that is much worse.
ReplyDeletethe government doesn't want to just have prisoners sitting in jail til they rot away. that costs money. the death penalty is a way to clear up some room.
